Unreleased Nirvana material may be released by the end of the year, as the ongoing battle between the band\u2019s remaining members and Kurt Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, draws to an end.<\/p>\n

Ex-Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic and drummer Dave Grohl are still locked in a legal battle for ownership of the band\u2019s back catalogue with the late Mrs. Cobain, Courtney Love, but Novoselic has spoken to Billboard saying “there’s actually good will going on right now.”<\/p>\n

Since the aborted release of a Nirvana box set last year, the three have been trying to assume control of the band\u2019s massively lucrative song rights, which include the near legendary unreleased track \u2018You Know You’re Right\u2019. Now it seems the argument is drawing to a close, with the rare material probably hitting the shops in winter in a form that shouldn\u2019t disappoint Nirvana fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can’t say until the ink’s dry, but it’s just probably what you’d expect, what you’ve been hearing.\u201d Novoselic explained. “All your assumptions would be safe. Unless [you think] it’s gonna be this freaky, like, experimental noise record, no. It’s all safe. And that way the band wins, the estate wins, the fans win, everybody wins, so it’s good will.”<\/p>\n

As far as explaining when this new Nirvana record may arrive, Novoselic said, “They [Universal Music Group] got that motherf***er on a rail, they’re talking fourth quarter here.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
